Spicy, tossed Fruit Salad

Whether your destination is the gas station, Bank of America, or the National Council of Jewish Women Council Thrift Shop, a stop at Juan's fruit-stand is worth the slight detour. In front of the B of A parking lot on Pico Blvd. at La Cienega, Juan is serving up fresh fruit salads to please all palates, Monday through Saturday. The twist is that at your discretion, your salad can be tossed with Pico de Gallo chili pepper, fresh-squeezed lime, and Morton's salt. A $4 bag of chopped pineapple, jicama, watermelon, mango, coconut, cantaloup, and cucumber (the lone vegetable) makes a satisfying lunch.
